Male Bust 06 – Zbrush practise
Aaaaand… Here is another one. I’m really enjoying this. I’m feeling more and more comfortable in Zbrush the more time I spend in it. Funny how that works..
I even figured out which settings I should use to avoid the lag I got earlier from the Timelapse function in Zbrush. So I recorded this session as well.
And here is the timelapse.
Male Bust 05 – Zbrush practise
Here is another quickie.
I tried the timelapse function in zbrush’s Movie palette. It gave me a pretty bad lag while sculpting and that pretty much killed the creative process.
One way or another; Here it is in all its glory.
And here is the timelapse.
Male Bust 04 – Zbrush practise
“1,2 and now 4?” you may ask. Well.. #3 is not finished. And it never will. So you don’t really want to see it. And I want to keep the numbers like on my drive, so it may be some back and forth from time to time.
Well.. Here is another hour of sculpting. I know I’m not the fastest nor the best sculptor in the universe, but I’m getting there. Sloooowly. ![]()
I wanted to try something a bit different this time so I started experimenting with techniques, workflow and some new styles. At least I’ve never done anything very similar earlier.
cbBuildEnd – 1st “beta” release
I’ve uploaded a beta release of my cbBuildEnd mel-script. I’ve tried making it faster but since I’m using Maya’s slow polySplit command in the script there’s not much I can do to make it any significantly faster without rewriting the whole thing.
I’m looking into a couple of other ways to write it tho, so hopefully I will have the time to figure out a way to make it better some time in the future. I know one of the methods makes it run about 4 times as fast as the current version, but that method has some other issues making it a braintwister.
If you want it, please go to the Maya Mel Scripts page.

If you have downloaded and tried it out, please drop me a line in this post if you’ve found a bug or are having issues with other things than speed. Or anything else for that matter.
I hope you’ll enjoy it.
Below you’ll find a video demonstrating the script.
cbBuildEnd (NEW) – Demo
I’ve been doing some mel-scripting tonight. And I came up with a script that tries to do the same as the Build End functionality in 3dsmax’ Polyboost/Graphite Modeling Tools.
This is not to be mixed up with this video posted in 2006. That old one should be “Build Corner“. I will hopefully get around to merging these two scripts together and make them ONE context sensitive tool instead of two separate ones. We’ll see..
Anyhow.. Until I get time to clean up some code and making it “smarter” I’ll leave you with a demonstration video to show how it works.
Tuskarr – Eyebrows WIP
I had some time today and I have done some testing for the eyebrows.
I’ll probably add another layer of detail on the hair parts. Can’t really decide on what level of detail I want. The tusks are a quick mockup I did to try something I wanted to try. And the second image is a test I did earlier, but ZBrush crashed on me, so all I have left is this supercompressed jpg. I’m not really sure if I want to go to that level of detail anyway, and I do need the practice, so I guess it all worked out for the best.
Border Vertex Extrude
Remember this? ![]()
Well….A bit later than I planned, but now I’ve uploaded the script and an icon.
You’ll probably be able to find some bugs etc, but I decided to go ahead and share it anyway instead of just keeping it to myself.
If you want it, please go to the Maya Mel Scripts page.

Tuskarr – Head WIP
Here is the start of a Tuskarr from Blizzards Warcraft universe. Far from done, but this is what I had time for in an evening.
I want to go for a more high resolution version of the in-game version rather than the concepts because I really like the “toonyness” it portrays.
The plan is, of course, to finish him.. body, gear, facial hair and all. Maybe even making a small scene with him. If that plan will ever become a reality still remains one of lifes many mysteries.
